Even though MADHOUSE was technically around since the early 80's, not much has survived of their recorded works. During MADHOUSE'S
first incarnation, it was quite expensive to even do a decent quality
demo - so we didn't. What did survive, were alot of cassette tapes of
live performances. I've picked out a few notable ones here. The band
split up around 1985, and we regrouped with Plasterscene Replica's
bassist Brenden Cavin in 1991. He replaced Tony Jarvis, who seemed to
dissappear into oblivion.
WHERE ARE YOU TONY!
Pictured above was the last lineup.
We'll
start with the first recording we ever did. It was recorded and
produced by Al Miller on a first generetion TEAC 4 track cassette
thing. We were also on a compilation album called QUESTIONABLE,
which referred to an article written by some pinhead that used that
term to describe the current high-energy music scene in Toronto at that
time. I have lost my only copy of that. If I find someone who has it,
i'll throw it up here. Madhouse played extensively at the Quoc te - an
underground restaraunt place in Kensington Market in Toronto. Many of
the recordings are from that era-1982-1984. We're not sure of the exact
dates, as the cassettes were rarely labled properly. We just know by
the sound quality.
